South India offers many tourist places. The most popular tourist places in south are:

1)Coorg: Coorg is an attractive hill station located at the foothills of Western Ghats in Karnataka state. Coorg is known as the "Scotland of India". It was originally inhabited by the Kannada speaking people but it was later conquered by Mysore when it was under his rule.

2)Kodaikanal: Kodaikanal is another hill station located at an altitude of 930 meters above sea level on the Western Ghats range in Tamil Nadu. It is famous for its hot springs, tea gardens and wildlife sanctuaries like tigers, elephants and leopards etc.

The South is a diverse region with many different cultures, languages and traditions. It's also the most visited part of India, so it's easy to understand why it's such a popular holiday destination. The South is home to some of the country's most treasured places, including Puri and Goa, which are undoubtedly two of India's top destinations for honeymooners.

South India has been under many rulers throughout its history including the Cholas who ruled during 700 BC to 1300 AD, the Pallavas who ruled between 300 BC to 300 AD, The Pandyas who ruled between 100 BC to 600 AD and finally The Vijayanagar Empire which ruled between 1400 AD to 1646 AD.
